It's been a looong time since I last hung out at the Sisterhood....too long. But a surprise pregnancy followed by 9-10 months of "I'm too tired to exercise because I'm still getting up 1-2 times during the night to feed baby" and " I need the calories because I'm breastfeeding" turn out to be great excuses to keep the 50 pounds of baby fat around.
Around my baby's 9th month I decided it was time to start cutting the fat and took the plunge by registering for a local half marathon (12/12/10). I followed this commitment by registering for and participating in First Place 4 Health, which is more or less a Christ-centered WW, for accountability. As part of the "program", I started keeping a food journal....and as hard as it was for me to write down every.bite.of.food, it's working. In the last 11 weeks, I've lost 25 pounds...just another 25 to go.
While I've managed to stay pretty focused on my calorie intake and training schedule thus far, I'm starting to feel a little weary. The time change has completely screwed me up, the weather in IL (we're visiting for 3 weeks) is MUCH colder than our native South Texas, and my husband's schedule is about to take a turn for the worse making it even harder for me to get my workouts in BEFORE he leaves for work or before it gets dark. This is where the Sisterhood comes in.....I figure a new challenge might be just what I need to kick up the motivation to keep on truckin'.
My goal for the Holiday Hoedown, a 6 week challenge, is to lose 10 pounds, drink more water, give Jillian a try, and make new friends (I'm a part of a team: "Grinches who stole inches").
And now for the numbers (I seriously can't believe I'm about to post my weight)....
Weight as of 11/17: 178.0
